Use as Wallpaper For Widgy
Set wallpapers via share sheet and also set Widgy transparency image
What this shortcut does
Since iOS 17 > 18.1 and probably beyond, there has been a bug where the wallpaper and Widgy widgets will differ in colour. It was caused by setting the lock screen wallpaper first via shortcut or setting the home screen wallpaper separately in iOS 17 > 18.0.1. Now in iOS 18.1, it happens if the home wallpaper is set first when setting both wallpapers via a shortcut. When setting the wallpaper separately, or using a screenshot of your home screen for the transparency image in Widgy. To fix it, you can use this shortcut. This is an annoying issue and I am not entirely sure why Apple keeps breaking wallpapers, but at least there is a workaround. If you use my “Lig(ht-D)ark Walls For Widgy” shortcut you don’t need this one. Preview Video (box.com) Usage Just select the image you want as your wallpaper & select “Use as Wallpaper For Widgy”. You will be asked if it’s for both screens or just the Home or lock screen. If on iPad you will get additional options. Updater This will check at the end of the shortcut and if a newer version is found you will see the changes and the download button with the version. Note iOS 26: This version of Apples OS forces a parallax effect on wallpapers, which unfortunately will have an adverse effect for some wallpapers. I have found a work around for most images, but there will be some edge cases where it zooms the image into what it thinks is a subject (persons/animal etc…). Unfortunately, there’s no way for me to fix this. Apple need to allow me to disable this function. Additionally, using the new glass effect in Widgy won’t work via shortcuts because Apple doesn’t allow this API when set via a shortcut.
