Quick Menu: A Dynamic Action Button Quick Menu is a persistent, lightweight utility hub activated via Action Button or Back Tap. Most shortcuts use popups for extra information; not Quick Menu because it uses Dynamic Toolbars at the top of menus to convey information that would otherwise require popups, unobtrusively. Quick Menu has many features; some examples of features would be: • Weather Forecast • Many System controls (e.g Brightness, Orientation Lock, Focuses) • Where Am I? • Updater (Fetches infomation from GitHub and compares infomation) • Media Panel (Contains Playback controls, Spotify Launcher, AirPlay and Volume slider) • Plug n Play support • And 50+ more features, neatly in their own menus! Instead of popups in QM, Dynamic Toolbars are used, down below are some examples: ( Above: Dynamic Toolbar for Home Screen, annotated) ( Above: Dynamic Toolbar for Control submenu, annotated) Why are they used? So have you ever used a shortcut, its a really cool shortcut lets say, and you are really hyped about using it, but then you are flooded with tons of popups, like you are trying to browse the web on Internet Explorer 2.1? Yeah, it sucks and blocks your flow. Dynamic Toolbars solve that issue by putting non-essential information up at the top of the screen, where you can glance at any time. Day-to-day usage Quick Menu has been designed in a way that it can be used one-handed or when you don't want to think at 2am, with features such as easy-to-read menus with emojis, sliders and toggles. With all these QoL features you would expect it to feel heavy, right? Not at all, Quick Menu has a launchtime of only 200-300ms (1000ms = 1 second) and feels fluid throughout, even with heavier features in Launchpad, but this keeps the core experience instant and fulfilling for any toggles or media. System & Controls Quick Menu includes a configuration system that lets you customise how QM behaves. For example, if Apple Music is your default instead of Spotify, you can change the media setting in Settings > QM Configs so media actions open Apple Music instead. You can also switch interaction styles — such as enabling Numpads instead of sliders, letting you enter precise values instead of dragging. ( Left: QM Configs Menu | Middle: QM Configs Viewer | Right: Updater: Update Available) Quick Menu also features one of the most advanced Updaters in a shortcut; It has the ability to roll back, tell you if you are up to date, or tell you there is a update available, and from there you can even view the newest changelog, inside Quick Menu itself! Everything runs natively inside QM using a simple JSON-based system, with no external helper shortcuts required.
