Browse the web, all on your wrist
What this shortcut does
A shortcut to browse the web on an Apple Watch Despite being labeled for iOS 26, you must be on iOS 27 to use the latest version of Mini Safari. 🤩 Features Search the web Open websites Create bookmarks View your history Play a hidden game…* Input API Compatibility with R⤓Updater 🔍 Browse The Browse menu within Mini Safari allows you to enter either a search query or a URL. Whether your input is which is determined by Mini Safari and is then displayed in a web view. ⭐️ Bookmarks Mini Safari features the ability to create bookmarks for frequently-visited websites. To create a bookmark, open the Bookmarks menu and click New Bookmark. Enter the URL and title of the bookmark. To open your newly created bookmark, simply select it from the Bookmarks menu. To edit or remove a bookmark, click the respective option within the Bookmarks menu and select said bookmark. 🌐 History Mini Safari keeps track of your history, too. Whenever you browse or open a bookmark, Mini Safari stores your requests alongside their respective type — search, URL, game, or bookmark — and allows you to view your timeline within the History menu. To clear your history, open the History menu and click Clear History. ⚙️ Settings Within Mini Safari’s Settings menu, you are met with the following options: Search Engine Controls the search engine used for search queries. Subdomain Controls the subdomain — such as www. — displayed in URL boxes. Check for Updates Checks Mini Safari for updates without using an external updater. The names used by Mini Safari are as follows: minisafari.settings.engine The search engine URL used by Mini Safari. For instance, https://www.google.com/search?q= . One may modify this setting and use any URL one would like, but compatibility is not guaranteed. minisafari.settings.subdomain The subdomain used by Mini Safari. minisafari.data.bookmarks A list of contacts describing the user’s saved bookmarks. minisafari.data.history A list of contacts denoting the user’s visited websites, search queries, played games, and opened bookmarks. minisafari.data.version The version of Mini Safari’s data. As of now, this will always be 1.0, but as Mini Safari continues to evolve, more settings or data types may be added, which will warrant an increase in this number. If you’re upgrading from Mini Safari v4.2, you must download and run the Mini Safari Data Migrator shortcut to migrate your data from the Reminders system previously used by Mini Safari to the new storage-based system. 📲 Input API The input API allows Mini Safari to accept inputs from other shortcuts. Using the Run Shortcut action, a given shortcut can run Mini Safari whilst providing an input. Mini Safari accepts basic text or URLs. The input is treated as if it were a browse query typed in by the user, which means that it is added to the user’s history and determined by Mini Safari to be a search query or URL. Furthermore, after handling the input, the output returned by Mini Safari is the final URL displayed. For search queries, the URL is the user’s search engine URL with the query encoded and appended to the end. If no website is visited, the output is nothing (null). 📝 Notes A Lite version is also available for free . Some websites may not work or load properly. Opening a URL can take some time depending on your watch and/or internet connection.
