Frame Screenshots

This shortcut allows you to easily and quickly add device frames to your screenshots without the need for additional editing tools. It’s perfect for giving your screenshots a professional touch or presenting them in a more visually appealing way. Main Features Screenshot selection: When manually running the shortcut, you can select the screenshots to be framed directly from your photo library. Automatic frame detection: The shortcut identifies the correct frame based on the dimensions of the selected screenshots. If no local frame is found, it allows you to search for and download one online. Over 200 frames are available! Support for multiple formats: Frames can be in PNG or JPEG-XL format. Compatibility with multiple screenshots: The shortcut can process multiple screenshots simultaneously, provided they share the same dimensions. Depending on the number and orientation of the screenshots, they can be combined in various layouts. Storage management: You can delete the original screenshots after viewing the framed ones. Easy customization: Add your own frames without modifying the shortcut or integrate it into other workflows (see examples below). A practical example of custom frame: A Reddit user got weirdly sized screenshots in their iPad Air M1 (2746x1908, which turns out to be size of the zoomed out screen in "More space" mode). A few minutes using image editing software and now they have a frame for that size ( 1908x2746+174+174 iPad Air M1 (non-standard size).jxl ) which only needs to be put in their frames folder to be used by the shortcut 🙂 How to Use Initial Setup: Upon importing the shortcut, select an existing folder to store the frames. To add new frames, simply place them in that folder, naming them according to the dimensions and position of the screenshot (details below). Running the Shortcut: Run the shortcut and select the screenshots to frame from your photo library. Frame Selection and Download: If no compatible frame is found in the folder, the shortcut will let you search and download one. And if multiple frames match the screenshot dimensions, you can choose your preferred frame. Result: View the framed screenshots and save or share them through the share sheet. You'll also have the option to delete the original screenshots. How Does the Shortcut Work? Here are the steps the shortcut performs for each screenshot and frame: Notes Frame naming: Frame names must include the geometry ( WIDTHxHEIGHT+X+Y ) of the associated screenshots. Some devices require an additional radius value ( WIDTHxHEIGHT+X+Y~RADIUS ) to round the corners of screenshots and prevent them from protruding from the frame. Compatibility: The shortcut works on both iOS 17 and iOS 18. Error handling: If no frame is found for your screenshots, you can notify the shortcut creator via Telegram with helpful information to resolve the issue. Recent improvements: Rewritten from scratch for better speed, usability, and storage efficiency. Improved support for managing online frames. Advanced Usage Since version 2.0, the shortcut can act as a function, silently returning the framed screenshots without combining them if provided as input.
