It has much of the same functionality and the responses are streamed for a faster and improved user experience. ✅ SETUP REQUIREMENTS Before diving into Alpha's numerous features, please ensure the following: - 🔑 OpenAI API Key: A Tier 1 (or higher) key is strongly recommended. Free Tier usage is limited and may cause usage errors. - ☁️ iCloud Drive & Calendar Account: Essential to store files and use Calendar functions. - 📆 Reminder List Setup: If updating from version 6.3.7 or older , manually create a reminder list named "Alpha Reminders" in Apple's Reminders app. 🚀 GETTING STARTED WITH ALPHA Alpha harnesses OpenAI technology to intelligently detect your requests and respond accordingly. You can interact with Alpha by voice or text, and it understands context intuitively. Alpha can summarize and interact with content from your Share Sheet, including: web pages, PDFs, articles, texts, images, videos—and even YouTube videos ! Quick Usage Tips: End Conversation: Simply say something like "Goodbye Alpha" or "I'll talk to you later". Save/Load Conversations: Once you save or load a conversation, your exchanges are continuously saved, ensuring your progress is never lost. On the next run, simply tell Alpha to want to load a conversation to continue where you left off. Input/Output: Alpha supports voice or text input and output , fully adjustable from the Settings menu. ⚠️ FIRST-TIME USE & PRIVACY PERMISSIONS On the first run and usage of new functions, permission prompts may appear multiple times initially. This is normal; please select "Always Allow" to prevent repeated pop-ups. To customize Alpha's speaking voice, look for shortcut comments marked "~Speak Actions: #" in the Shortcuts app. 🔍 KNOWN ISSUES "Alpha" folder issue: Ensure an "Alpha" folder was created in iCloud Drive > Shortcuts after the first run. Delete Alpha Folder Check.txt if the folder is not present, then rerun the shortcut and be sure to allow Alpha to create folders. Freezing/Crashing at launch: This occasionally happens, so for convenience, your first typed message is copied to clipboard. Simply reopen the shortcut. 1st request delay: Initial requests set up variables; later requests run faster. Intent misunderstanding: Occasionally, Alpha might misunderstand your request. Simply retry your command. Spotted an issue? Please report it via the email address in my profile, along with a screenshot clearly showing the error in the Shortcuts app, if possible. ✨ AUTOMATIC MESSAGE REPLIES Alpha can automatize text replies (SMS): Create an automation for incoming texts from contacts or all numbers (leave Sender blank and type a single space in "Message Contains" to apply to all texts). Alpha notifies new incoming messages and inquires if you'd like to hear & reply. If links are sent, you have the option to open them directly. 💬 Note: Group chatting supported! Enter your number in Settings so Alpha filters your number from the group chat responses. 🛠️ ALPHA'S FUNCTIONS OVERVIEW Functions can now interact in context.
